Some mitigation in the design of the zoning, some steepening of the slopes, and reduction in the volume of fill can be achieved. Placement rates are higher, costs are lower. 

Carpi develops engineered waterproofing solutions for dams in tailings storage facilities, using SIBELON® geomembrane technologies to support long-term containment and environmental protection. Each solution is tailored to the specific requirements of mining projects, helping operators achieve durable seepage control and reliable performance under demanding operating conditions. The upstream SIBELON® water barrier withstands settlements and differential displacements, resists seismic loading, allows steepening the slopes, reducing the volume of the fill, and accelerating construction. It can be installed following the stages of construction of the dam and allows important savings to the overall cost of the project. 

Carpi provides project-specific waterproofing solutions for cemented material dams, which like RCC dams combine the economical and rapid placement techniques typical of embankment dams with the strength and durability of concrete dams. Carpi further simplifies the project by substituting a concrete or grout enriched facing with a SIBELON® proven facing technology. Each system combines the advantages of applications in RCC dams and in embankment dams. Each system is designed to integrate seamlessly with the characteristics of the structure while delivering reliable, long-term watertight performance.
