RCC dams

Full Face/Partial Face/Treatment of Joints and Cracks

RCC dams deteriorate in a similar manner to concrete dams. Cracking and defective joints are the main source of leakage that may increase uplift forces, reduce stability and accelerate deterioration of the dam. Lift joints are also critical in regard to seepage in RCC dams.

SIBELON® geomembrane systems prevent/stop leakage, reducing or preventing uplift forces, bridge cold joints and lift joints, and connections with conventional concrete elements. As in concrete dams, they provide protection against freeze-thaw and aggressive water and can withstand seismic events, and surface preparation is minimum.
