RESERVOIRS
In-ground water reservoirs are designed to safely store a valuable liquid. Over time, poor resistance of the structure to
environmental agents, and action of the retained water, may affect the watertightness. This leads to water loss,
furtherly increased by evaporation. The combined action of sunlight, of some water treatment chemicals, and of airborne
pollutants, may increase algae growth on the structure, and jeopardize water quality.
The CARPI systems have been installed in water reservoirs at different latitudes and altitudes, with heavy sun exposure
or ice. Experience also includes floating covers for containment basins of waste waters.
The installation of a synthetic geomembrane on the reservoir's inner surfaceprovides the following benefits:
- stops leakage
- protects the structure from further deterioration
- reduces formation of algae
- is cost effective and minimizes future maintenance.

- stops water loss by evaporation
- hampers sunlight/water treatment components interaction which may produce hazardous chemicals
- by following the water level avoids bacteria growth and gas build up
- maintains water quality.
